For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one
body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we
were all baptized into one body — whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves
or free — and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor me
with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship
Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men”.’ If anyone adds to these things (to the
Book of Revelation), God will add to him the plagues that are written in
this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy
city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Father, It seems all mankind seeks very divergent paths as they look for a way to relate to You or to avoid a relationship. We read here that there is one Spirit into which we must be baptized and that Father is Your Spirit. We also see that there is only one true Word, the Holy Bible. If we set out to add words to the Word or to subtract words from the Bible, we are in the worst kind of trouble.
Father, given what you have taught us, how is it that mankind has developed so many different religions and denominations? If there is only one body of believers, won’t heaven be a place of unity and not division? Your Word says, we will be one body, a people worshipping You, the one true God.
For such clarity and simplicity, we are grateful. You have made it very uncomplicated. We worship You, the one true God, and You have given us the one true Word, the Bible, which contains all the truth and all the Light we need. May we worship You in truth and Spirit, never attempting to add or subtract one word from Your Holy Word. You sent Jesus to us, redeeming us by His blood, cleansing us of all unrighteousness, making it possible for us to stand in Your presence as if we had never sinned. It is the name of our Savior that we pray. Amen.
