JOB 2:10
10 …Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?”
Psalm 32:8-9
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.
9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you.
Psalm 55:22
22 Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; he shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 89:46-48
46 How long, LORD? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?
47 Remember how short my time is; for what futility have You created all the children of men?
48 What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave?…
Psalm 56:12-13
12 Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You,
13 For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
Psalm 105:1-5
1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!
2 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works!
3 Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!
4 Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face evermore!
5 Remember His marvelous works which He has done, his wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,
Psalm 112:5-8
5 A good man deals graciously and lends; he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
8 His heart is established; he will not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies.
Psalm 119:2-10,123-164
2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart!
3 They also do no iniquity; they walk in His ways.
4 You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently.
5 Oh, that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes!
6 Then I would not be ashamed, when I look into all Your commandments.
7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your righteous judgments.
8 I will keep Your statutes…
10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
123 My eyes fail from seeking Your salvation and Your righteous word.
127 Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, yes, than fine gold!
128 Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; I hate every false way.
129 Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.
130 The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
131 I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments.
132 Look upon me and be merciful to me, as Your custom is toward those who love Your name.
133 Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep Your precepts.
135 Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes.
136 Rivers of water run down from my eyes, because men do not keep Your law.
137 Righteous are You, O LORD, and upright are Your judgments.
138 Your testimonies, which You have commanded, are righteous and very faithful.
139 My zeal has consumed me, because my enemies have forgotten Your words.
140 Your word is very pure; therefore Your servant loves it.
141 I am small and despised, yet I do not forget Your precepts.
142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.
143 Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, yet Your commandments are my delights.
144 The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; give me understanding, and I shall live.
145 I cry out with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD! I will keep Your statutes.
146 I cry out to You; save me, and I will keep Your testimonies.
147 I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help; I hope in Your word.
148 My eyes are awake through the night watches, that I may meditate on Your word.
149 Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness; O LORD, revive me according to Your justice.
150 They draw near who follow after wickedness; they are far from Your law.
151 You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are truth.
152 Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever.
153 Consider my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget Your law.
154 Plead my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek Your statutes.
156 Great are Your tender mercies, O LORD; revive me according to Your judgments.
157 Many are my persecutors and my enemies, yet I do not turn from Your testimonies.
158 I see the treacherous, and am disgusted, because they do not keep Your word.
159 Consider how I love Your precepts; revive me, O LORD, according to Your lovingkindness.
160 The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.
161 Princes persecute me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your word.
162 I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.
163 I hate and abhor lying, but I love Your law.
164 Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments.
PROVERBS 4:23
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.
PROVERBS 24:10-16
10 If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.
12 If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?
13 My son, eat honey because it is good, and the honeycomb which is sweet to your taste;
14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; if you have found it, there is a prospect, and your hope will not be cut off.
15 Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; do not plunder his resting place;
16 For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.
HABAKKUK 3:17-19
17 Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls–
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The LORD God is my strength; he will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills….
MATTHEW 10:22-31
22 “…you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
23 “When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
25 “It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!
26 “Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.
27 “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.
28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.
30 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 “Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
LUKE 11:5-13
5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;
6 ‘for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;
7 “and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?
8 “I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
10 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
11 “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
12 “Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
LUKE 18:1-9
1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.
3 “Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’
4 “And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,
5 ‘yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.'”
6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.
7 “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?
8 “I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Acts 20:22-38
22 (Paul said)”… now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,
23 “except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.
24 “But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
25 “And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.
26 “Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.
27 “For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
28 “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
29 “For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 “Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.
31 “Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
32 “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
33 “I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.
34 “Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.
35 “I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”
36 And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37 Then they all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,
38 sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more…
GALATIANS 6:7-9
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
PHILIPPIANS 1:6
6 … He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
PHILIPPIANS 2:12-16
12 Therefore,… work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,
15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
16 holding fast the word of life,…
2 TIMOTHY 2:1-15
1 …be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
3 You … must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
5 And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
6 The hard-working farmer must be first to partake of the crops.
7 Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
8 Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,
9 for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained.
10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 This is a faithful saying: for if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, he also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless, he remains faithful; he cannot deny Himself.
14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 TIMOTHY 4:1-5
1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
HEBREWS 6:4-11
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God;
8 but if it bears thorns and briars, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.
9 But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner.
10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,
2 PETER 1:3-11
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
PHILIPPIANS 4:13
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
