Habakkuk 2:4

4 “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.

1 Samuel 2:2-3,7,9

2 “No one is holy like the LORD, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God.
3 “Talk no more so very proudly; let no arrogance come from your mouth, for the LORD is the God of knowledge; and by Him actions are weighed.
7 The LORD makes poor and makes rich; he brings low and lifts up.
9 …by strength no man shall prevail.

Psalm 18:1-3,27-31,35,46

1 I will love You, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised
27 …You will save the humble people, but will bring down haughty looks.
28 …You will light my lamp; the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall.
30 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is proven; he is a shield to all who trust in Him.
31 For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?
35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; your right hand has held me up, your gentleness has made me great.
46 The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

PROVERBS 27:1

1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

PROVERBS 28:26

26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered.

Psalm 36:5-12

5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast.
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.
9 For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.
10 Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 There the workers of iniquity have fallen; they have been cast down and are not able to rise.

PROVERBS 29:23

23 A man’s pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor.

Deuteronomy 8:2-3,10-20

2 “You shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.
10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you.
11 Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,
12 lest– when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them;
13 and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;
14 when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
15 who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;
16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end–
17 then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’
18 … you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
19 Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.
20 As the nations which the LORD destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.”

EZEKIEL 7:9-10

9 ‘My eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; I will repay you according to your ways, and your abominations will be in your midst. Then you shall know that I am the LORD who strikes.
10 Behold, the day! Behold, it has come! Doom has gone out; the rod has blossomed, pride has budded.’

EZEKIEL 16:49-50

49 “Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.”

Psalm 73:6-28

6 …pride serves as their necklace; violence covers them like a garment.
7 Their eyes bulge with abundance; they have more than heart could wish.
8 They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; they speak loftily.
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walks through the earth.
10 Therefore his people return here, and waters of a full cup are drained by them.
11 And they say, “How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?”
12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; they increase in riches.
13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.
15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,” behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children.
16 When I thought how to understand this, it was too painful for me-
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end.
18 Surely You set them in slippery places; you cast them down to destruction.
19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.
20 As a dream when one awakes, so, Lord, when You awake, you shall despise their image.
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was vexed in my mind.
22 I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with You; you hold me by my right hand.
24 You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
26 My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; you have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry.
28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all Your works.

PROVERBS 14:3

3 In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.

James 4:16

16 … you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

Psalm 52:7

7 “Here is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”

Psalm 138:6

6 Though the LORD is on high, yet He regards the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.

PROVERBS 3:33-35

33 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the just.
34 Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble.
35 The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.

PROVERBS 11:12

12 He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his peace.

PROVERBS 15:10-12

10 Harsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way, and he who hates correction will die.
11 Hell and Destruction are before the LORD; so how much more the hearts of the sons of men.
12 A scoffer does not love one who corrects him, nor will he go to the wise.

PROVERBS 25:14,27

14 Whoever falsely boasts of giving is like clouds and wind without rain.
27 It is not good to eat much honey; so to seek one’s own glory is not glory.

PROVERBS 26:12

12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

PROVERBS 27:2

2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

Isaiah 2:11-12

11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up– and it shall be brought low–

Isaiah 3:16-26

16 Moreover the LORD says: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, making a jingling with their feet,
17 Therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will uncover their secret parts.”
18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery: the jingling anklets, the scarves, and the crescents;
19 The pendants, the bracelets, and the veils;
20 The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands; the perfume boxes, the charms,
21 and the rings; the nose jewels,
22 the festal apparel, and the mantles; the outer garments, the purses,
23 and the mirrors; the fine linen, the turbans, and the robes.
24 And so it shall be: instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench; instead of a sash, a rope; instead of well-set hair, baldness; instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war.
26 Her gates shall lament and mourn, and she being desolate shall sit on the ground.

HOSEA 5:5

5 The pride of Israel testifies to his face;

Isaiah 5:15

15 People shall be brought down, each man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.

Zephaniah 3:12

12 I will leave in your midst a meek and humble people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

Isaiah 23:9

9 The LORD of hosts has purposed it, to bring to dishonor the pride of all glory…

Isaiah 24:4

4 The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away; the haughty people of the earth languish.

PROVERBS 15:33

33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility.

1 Peter 5:5-11

5 …be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
