Joy | October 30
The humble … shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
You shall have a song as in the night when a holy festival is kept, and gladness of heart as when one goes with a flute, to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the Mighty One of Israel.
…the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing…
Isaiah 30:29, 29:19, 35:1-2
Father, we know that the proud stand afar from You and You honor those with a humble and contrite spirit whose riches lie in eternity, not in this temporal place.
Thank You for the evidence of Your love both in our lives and in that which You have created for our use. The earth does indeed blossom abundantly, even when man turns his back on You and on the opportunity to rejoice in You.
Strengthen our resolve to serve You and to acknowledge Your presence in all things. In Jesus Holy name, we pray, amen.
