Core Christian Value

The Holy Scriptures are God’s gift to us. Let no man contradict or deny the Word. God’s Spirit in you is the interpreter. His Light shines in your heart as a star in the darkness. Seek Him.

In today’s world, there are many people willing to tell you what they think God wants you to know. Many of these teachers, priests, pastors and prophets are very sincere and they can be of great assistance to you. But, in the final analyses, we have the most wonderful, perfect Teacher that exists. We have the prophetic Word. Listen:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 TIMOTHY 3:16 NKJV

God’s word is the final word. It equips you that you may be “complete”, thoroughly equipped. What a wonderful promise. You are now able to use God’s word to establish your own personal relationship with Him. He becomes your teacher. Memorize this verse. It is a daily reality! “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” PSALM 119:105 “Lead me in paths of righteousness” PSALM 23:3 can be your constant prayer.

As to the “interpretation of the word”, listen: “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” 2 PETER 1:19-21 NKJV

How trustworthy and useful is His word. Listen: “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.” PSALM 19:7-11 NKJV

When is the right time to learn the word? Again the answer is before us. “From childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
2 TIMOTHY 3:15 NKJV

What steps can you take to “Store God’s word in your heart that you might not sin against Him?” How can we access God’s wisdom? If there is a dispute as to the meaning of a verse, to what or to whom do you look for insight? What does it mean when it says, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” JOHN 8:12 NKJV Do you feel you have the Light within you? How does one “turn on the light”?
