Chapter 8: Peace and Safety

The most wonderful part about prophecy is that it provides verification. You would think that all of the prophecy that has been fulfilled would “seal the deal,” so to speak. The fact that it has not testifies to the power of evil present in this world and to the hardness of the hearts of many that do not serve nor love God.

The scriptures indicate that a pronouncement of “Peace and Safety” in Israel will precede the beginning of the tribulation period. This will require new treaties, some of which are under negotiation at this moment. Watch the newspapers to see how the placement of the Temple foundation is resolved and who plays the lead arbiter roles. The treaties will necessarily allow Israel to rebuild the Temple in an air of compromise, through peaceful negotiations.

Actually, when I started writing this book, I said, “may be under negotiation.” Certainty on this issue now abounds. Whether these treaties link directly to the rebuilding of the Temple, we will see. I think you know that they will.

If this prophecy were fulfilled before your eyes, I would think you would be startled at first and then secondly, you would be placed on alert. Peace and safety will not endure in Jerusalem, according to the scriptures, not until the Messiah returns.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 (NKJ)

2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

Jeremiah speaks of a time where the Word of God will not be regarded and the leadership will be speaking of “peace and safety.” Listen.

Jeremiah 6:10-14 (NKJ)

10 To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Indeed their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot give heed. Behold, the word of the LORD is a reproach to them; they have no delight in it.
11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD. I am weary of holding it in. “I will pour it out on the children outside, and on the assembly of young men together; for even the husband shall be taken with the wife, the aged with him who is full of days.
12 And their houses shall be turned over to others, fields and wives together; for I will stretch out My hand against the inhabitants of the land,” says the LORD.
13 “Because from the least of them even to the greatest of them, everyone is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.
14 They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.

Jeremiah goes on to say:

Jeremiah 8:15 (NKJ)

15 “We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and there was trouble!

Jeremiah 9:12-14 (NKJ)

12 Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through?
13 And the LORD said, “Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it,
14 “but they have walked according to the dictates of their own hearts…

Such prophecy seems too transparent not to be heeded. But what does one do to “pay heed.” Go to all of the Word of God and seek a personal relationship with the only One who can offer you true peace and safety. Everything around you will perish, only your soul and spirit will survive. But I must say, because God’s word says it, turn now from your sins of the flesh, repent and seek to know and to be known by God the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

All prophecy will be fulfilled. The Messiah has come and will come again. Only He can present you to the Holy Father, blameless. There is no peace and safety that will endure until the Messiah returns and establishes the Kingdom here on earth for 1000 years and even then, this earth will perish in the end along with everyone who serves evil.
